FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO
Inspired by UChicago’s No Barriers and Promise initiatives, we are excited to announce a generous gift by the Neubauer Family Foundation that will allow the University of Chicago to enhance its support for students from underrepresented backgrounds, providing enhanced guidance and new opportunities for students across the country and around the world.
The Neubauer No Barriers Scholarships for International Students create opportunities for talented students from around the world to receive additional support from the University of Chicago. Non-US Citizens attending high school in the United States and undocumented students, who are typically ineligible for most forms of financial aid, will also be considered.
Outstanding students who share the Neubauers’ commitment to the Hispanic and Latino community will be considered for new scholarships, opportunities for summer research, and career enhancement. These benefits are in addition to the University’s comprehensive need-based aid, which meets 100% of our students’ demonstrated need through grants, instead of student loans.
Admissions Counselors will be hosting bilingual information sessions around the country to help Spanish-speaking households navigate the college admissions and financial aid processes. Talented high school students from Hispanic and Latino communities are encouraged to apply for full tuition scholarships to UChicago’s college preparatory summer session for high school students. Students who are selected will also attend programming focused on applying to selective schools, regardless of whether students intend to apply to UChicago. More information about these programs will be available in early 2015. Please visit collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/costs/neubauer to learn more about these exciting programs.
